About.
The concept of the www.floralpicturegallery.com site arose from combining my interests in flowers/gardening, photography and computers, and many times spent in hotel rooms having to put up with some soulless pictures - why not use aesthetically pleasing timeless decorative pictures of colourful flowers.
I live in picturesque North Yorkshire, England. Many of the pictures are taken locally, including at the Royal Horticultural Society Garden at Harlow Carr, Harrogate and my own garden, but others have been taken abroad including at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, Cape Town, South Africa.
My passion for photography started when I was about 10 years old when I bought an Ilford Sportsman camera. Most of my pictures are now taken with a Canon EOS D5 mk2 or D60 digital SLR cameras, using Canon L lenses. I have been commended in the Royal Horticultural Societies popular annual photographic competition.
Alongside flowers, I also enjoy taking Wildlife & Landscape pictures both in the UK and abroad. Most of my picture taking & processing is done for my own pleasure, but I am open to interesting commission offers - if interested, please use the Contact Me hyperlink. |
